This policy applies to both the HRV Flow iOS app (iPhone and Apple Watch companion app) and this website (hrvflow.de). Sections 3–6 concern the app; section 7 concerns the website.
HRV Flow does not collect personal data or send measurement data to a server. All measurements and settings are processed exclusively in the app’s local storage on your iPhone. There is no dedicated server, cloud synchronisation or user account.
The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy to connect to the Polar H10 chest strap. Heart rate and HRV data are processed directly on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. If a paired Apple Watch is active, the app transfers selected live values to the Watch via WatchConnectivity so you can follow them on your wrist.
Writing (optional, iPhone): If you enable it, HRV Flow saves your SDNN values, heart rate and completed breathing exercises as Mindfulness sessions in Apple Health on your device. This data is subject to Apple’s privacy policies and is not accessible to us.
Reading (Apple Watch, during breathing exercises): The Watch app reads your current pulse via HealthKit to display it during a guided breathing exercise as a fallback when no Polar H10 is connected. This access is limited to the active exercise and the data is not stored permanently or transmitted.
Technical workout session (background stability): For longer recordings, the app may start a short-lived HealthKit workout session (on iPhone from iOS 26, and on Apple Watch) so iOS does not terminate the app in the background. This session is solely for app stability, is not saved and does not appear as a workout in the Health app.
HRV Flow contains no tracking, advertising or third-party analytics tools (no Firebase, Mixpanel or Crashlytics).
The website is static and hosted by Vercel Inc. When you visit, Vercel processes technical access data (including IP address, time and requested page) as part of hosting; see the Vercel Privacy Notice for details. This website itself does not use web analytics (such as Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics), tracking cookies or third-party fonts.
You can delete individual measurements at any time from your history using a swipe gesture. All app-specific data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. Data you have also saved to Apple Health is not affected and is managed and deleted separately in the Health app.
